NEWS
Back from my summer touring adventures with Edmund Welles and Sqwonk, and looking forward to settling back in to my composing and practicing routine. Sqwonk's East Coast Tour is now definitely in the works for early December - contact me if you have any ideas on venues we could play at!

In other news, Zoyres has completed the mixing and mastering of our new CD, and is hard at work on the art and jacket design. It should be ready very very soon! A CD release concert is scheduled for September 11th at the
Rickshaw Stop.

MY APPROACH

My goal in all my musical pursuits is to make music
alive, intense, and vital. I don’t want it to be held back,
constrained, or tamed. This doesn’t mean I want
everything to be loud and screaming all the time;
just that I want it to be strong, direct,
and deeply felt, without pretension.

I write music for all sorts of ensembles,
from orchestra to chorus to rock band.

As a performer, I am involved in all sorts of creative
and interesting projects. I am a member of the heavy
chamber music bass clarinet quartet Edmund Welles
and the klezmer / balkan / jazz / wild improv band
Zoyres, as well as a co-founder, composer,
and performer in the bass clarinet duo Sqwonk .
I also freelance as a classical clarinetist
and conduct compositions by students
and other young composers.
