I have a blog!

Hello world!

It’s me, Jon. How’s it going? Not so good right now, is it (ISIS, ebola, etc.). Well, not that this is going to help anything, but I have a blog now…

So, right, this is my blog. We’ll see how it evolves, but I expect to focus mostly on issues relating to contemporary music — everything from general aesthetic ideas to nitty-gritty technical issues to broader thoughts on the role of arts in society, etc. There probably will also be occasional political commentary, thoughts on other art forms, and complaints about grammatical pedantry. If I’m not careful, it could deteriorate into being exclusively about that last one, but I’ll try to spare you.

Anyway, hoping what I have to say is interesting or entertaining to at least one of you out there. We’ll see, I suppose. More soon!
