On Saturday night, February 8th, the world of the Improbable Beasts will be joined by the world of spontaneous music creation. Improbable Beasts director Jonathan Russell and fellow bass clarinet Beasts Todd Brunel, Chuck Furlong, and Bennett Parsons will be joined by pianist Peter Cassino, saxophonist Erik Van Dam, trumpet player Eric Dahlman, bassist Chuck Gabriel and drummer John Dalton to bring an evening of uncompromising music exploration.
We are calling it The Vortex Other Dimension, blending the worlds of contemporary classical music and contemporary improvisation as a means for modern music creativity. The core idea of this concert is to have a unified thread behind elements of notation and pure improvisation.
